EGO-X catback exhaust system 3″ VW Golf 7 GTI Performance / TCR OPF (with ECE*)

Tailpipes are not included. The exhaust is supplied only together with tailpipes — add one of these to the basket:

This EGO-X exhaust system for the VW Golf 7 GTI facelift Performance 245 and TCR, as well as the Seat Leon Cupra 5F 290, is handmade using the TIG welding process and consists of absorption silencers without chambers. The pipe diameter is 3 inches (76 mm). The exhaust system is non-resonated and has no front or middle silencer, in order to guarantee maximum sound enjoyment with the flap open.

With ECE type approval*:
*Applies only to the following selection in the “Operating mode selection” field: Bull-X Tronic control unit (with ECE type approval)

This flap exhaust system has ECE approval, so it can be driven on public roads without being entered in your vehicle documents.
Please note: exhaust systems with ECE approval are not affected by the “flap ban” and may still be used on public roads in full compliance with the law.

While driving you can choose whether to drive in Comfort or Sport mode. If your vehicle has a drive mode selection, control via that selection is also possible.
For vehicles without a drive mode selection, control can be carried out with the supplied button. Its LED lighting shows you whether the flap is currently open (light off) or closed (light on).
The control unit closes the flap automatically in all ranges required by the ECE regulation, regardless of which mode you are driving in.

In general the Bull-X Tronic offers two control modes:
– Sport (Dynamic, Race): within the approved scope of the ECE regulation the flap is always open. When stationary the flap is also open, because with this system we do not exceed the stationary noise registered in the vehicle registration document even with the flap open. In the 20-80 km/h range the flap is always closed.
– Comfort mode: the flap is always closed, but within the approved scope of the ECE regulation it opens while driving from 75% throttle opening.

Without ECE type approval*:

If the vehicle has a drive mode selection (sport button), control via that selection is also possible.
For vehicles without a drive mode selection, control can be carried out with the supplied button.
The button’s LED lighting shows you whether the flap is currently open (light off) or closed (light on)

If you have also purchased the Bull-X Tronic control unit, it is still possible to open the flap when stationary, but while driving the control unit regulates the exhaust flap in line with ECE guidelines.

In general the Bull-X Tronic offers two control modes:

– Comfort mode (flap opens from 75% throttle position)

The “without ECE type approval” version is not permitted for use on public roads – for racing use only!

ATTENTION! The exhaust system offered is not permitted for road use! With the ECE Bull-X Tronic control and the EC catalytic converter you may legally drive your vehicle on public roads. The use of all other controls and/or catalytic converters is intended for racing purposes only. If, despite our warning, you fit an exhaust system WITHOUT ECE approval, you commit a criminal offence. Possible consequences include: the operating licence becoming invalid, the vehicle being taken off the road, a report for tax evasion, and possible investigations by the environmental authority.
