Pipercross Plus replacement air filter PP2124PLUS for Audi RS5 B10

The Pipercross Plus PP2124PLUS is a high-quality replacement air filter for your Audi RS5 B10 with the 2.9-litre V6 biturbo engine (EA839). It replaces the standard filter directly in the existing air filter housing.

A 0.9 mm thick, laser-cut stainless steel frame with an open grid structure combines stability with a reworked foam medium. According to Pipercross, the Plus series thereby allows a 22.1 % higher air flow than the previous Pipercross panel filter series. This figure describes the air flow of the filter and not a corresponding increase in engine power.

The PP2124PLUS belongs to the oiled Pipercross Plus series. The washable, reusable filter can be used several times with proper care.

Maintenance

When cleaning, follow the vehicle manufacturer’s service intervals. If you frequently drive in dusty environments, you should check the filter more often and clean it earlier if necessary. This preserves air flow and filter function.

Cleaning and care

First carefully remove loose dirt with a soft brush. Then apply Pipercross air filter cleaner, work it in gently with the brush and leave it to act for about five minutes. Rinse the filter with lukewarm water at low water pressure, from the clean side to the dirty side.

Allow the filter to dry completely in the air. Do not use additional heat and do not place it in direct sunlight.

For continued use as an oiled filter, then apply Pipercross Dirt Retention Additive as a light, even spray mist to the dirty side. Leave it to act for at least one hour before refitting. Use the oil sparingly: over-oiling can contaminate the mass air flow sensor. When fitting, make sure the filter is seated correctly and the air filter housing is completely closed.

Note: According to Pipercross, all panel filters can also be used dry. The manufacturer nevertheless expressly classifies the Plus series as oiled.

Increased air flow

Compared with standard paper air filters, Pipercross air filters offer 30–40% higher air flow.

This is particularly noticeable in high-performance cars, where the engine has to be supplied with sufficient oxygen.

Approval

Replacing the original paper air filter with a Pipercross air filter is generally not only quick and easy, but also legal.

Pipercross air filters may be fitted to the car and require no registration entry, inspection or special approval.
